Born in Scotland, he attended Edinburgh University and graduated in 1989. Originally working in Malmesbury, Scott relocated to Devizes in 1999. Under his direction the practice has undergone two extensions, expanding both the main building and hospital, and during his tenure it has developed from a mixed practice with a significant proportion of large animal and meat hygiene work, to the modern, dynamic well equipped small animal practice that it is today. Scott has special interests in small animal medicine and practice management. He is married to Trish and they have two daughters; Georgia and Olivia. They have two cats – Tigi and Twinkle and two horses – Ferris and Rita.
James qualified from Bristol University in 2000 and after working in several practices in the UK, Australia and New Zealand he joined the practice in 2012 – fifteen years after first seeing practice at Estcourt Vets as a vet student. Along with Scott, James has been instrumental in helping to develop Estcourt Vets from a local mixed practice into a thriving small animal practice with first rate facilities and a high standard of care. James has a keen interest in all aspects of small animal general practice and in particular soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography and business development.
Emma graduated from Liverpool University in 2014 and has worked at Estcourt Vets ever since. Emma is a hugely valued member of the team both in the operating theatre and consulting room and she is constantly helping to develop and improve the clinical proficiency of the practice. On her ‘relaxing’ breaks away from the practice Emma likes endurance holidays with minimal creature comforts so that when she returns she can really appreciate how much she loves being at work.
Jodie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016 and has been with us ever since. She is currently undertaking a medicine certificate and her enthusiasm for working up the most complex of medical cases is a huge asset for the practice and we are very lucky to have her at Estcourt Vets. Along with Emma, Jodie has helped develop the clinical capabilities within the surgery to an extremely high standard. Before parenthood Jodie enjoyed cooking, drinking lots of tea, kayaking and cycling when the weather permitted, now if she’s lucky she might get time for the odd cup of tea.
Manon grew up in Cardiff and is Welsh speaking. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2015 and has worked in both farm and companion animal practice before joining us in September 2019. Manon now lives in Devizes with her husband and their black labrador Monty. In her spare time Manon likes running and looking after her plants!
Nicola grew up on a farm in Northern Ireland. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017. Nicola initially joined us to cover a maternity position in October 2019 however we are very fortunate that she has now returned to work part time on Saturdays and Mondays. Nicola has a particular interest in rabbit medicine and we are extremely lucky to benefit from her expertise in this area.
Sarah qualified in 2001. Sarah has worked as a locum in many practices in the area including out of hours emergency practice. We are extremely glad that Sarah has returned to Estcourt Vets after a number of years away to run our nursing team and nurse training programme. In her spare time Sarah is kept busy looking after two labradors and a spaniel as well as a tortoise called Lettuce, and if she’s lucky might get a chance to go riding.
Charlotte has been working in veterinary practice for a number of years, initially as a receptionist before progressing to become an animal care assistant. We are so pleased that she has now started training to become an RVN with us.
Maria started her training in London, but joined us after moving to Wiltshire.
Jackie has been working here since 1989 and is the longest serving member of the practice by far. Having worked her way up from trainee nurse to head nurse she is now practice manager. She knows the practice inside out and is always the person to ask about everything, she works with a calm efficiency, keeping everyone else sane in the process. Jackie is a Devizes girl who lives with her partner Darren, dogs Seth and Ivy, cat Bradley and 2 tortoises! Her only known vice these days is an addiction to buying Emma Bridgewater pottery in bulk.
Originally Emma joined our nursing team but more recently has taken on a key role as veterinary receptionist and insurance administrator. However because she also has a keen interest in anything technical she is also responsible for all our in house IT management! She lives with her fiancé and cats Harry and Ollie. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, shopping and socialising. Like Jackie, Emma also is an avid collector of Emma Bridgewater pottery!
As well as being an important part of our reception team Jayne also co-ordinates our Pet Health club as well as managing all aspects of health and safety and risk assessment at the practice.
The she isn’t at work she spends time with her husband, 2 grown up children and their 5 cats. In her spare time she enjoys baking and shopping for antiques.
