Born in Scotland, he attended Edinburgh University and graduated in 1989. Originally working in Malmesbury, Scott relocated to Devizes in 1999. Under his direction the practice has undergone two extensions, expanding both the main building and hospital, and during his tenure it has developed from a mixed practice with a significant proportion of large animal and meat hygiene work, to the modern, dynamic well equipped small animal practice that it is today. Scott has special interests in small animal medicine and practice management. He is married to Trish and they have two daughters; Georgia and Olivia. They have two cats – Tigi and Twinkle and two horses – Ferris and Rita.
James qualified from Bristol University in 2000 and after working in several practices in the UK, Australia and New Zealand he joined the practice in 2012 – fifteen years after first seeing practice at Estcourt Vets as a vet student. Along with Scott, James has been instrumental in helping to develop Estcourt Vets from a local mixed practice into a thriving small animal practice with first rate facilities and a high standard of care. James has a keen interest in all aspects of small animal general practice and in particular soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography and business development.
Emma graduated from Liverpool University in 2014 and has worked at Estcourt Vets ever since. Emma is a hugely valued member of the team both in the operating theatre and consulting room and she is constantly helping to develop and improve the clinical proficiency of the practice. On her ‘relaxing’ breaks away from the practice Emma likes endurance holidays with minimal creature comforts so that when she returns she can really appreciate how much she loves being at work.
Jodie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016 and has been with us ever since. She has a particular interest in internal medicine cases, and has recently passed her RCVS advanced certificate in this area, she hopes to take her exam to become a recognised Advanced Practitioner in internal medicine in the near future. Her enthusiasm for working up the most complex of medical cases is a huge asset for the practice and we are very lucky to have her at Estcourt Vets. Along with Emma, Jodie has helped develop the clinical capabilities within the surgery to an extremely high standard. Before parenthood Jodie enjoyed cooking, drinking lots of tea, kayaking and cycling when the weather permitted, now if she’s lucky she might get time for the odd cup of tea.
