Devizes is a thriving market town tucked away on the edge of both Salisbury Plain and the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s surrounded by beautiful landscapes, rolling hills and tranquil canals and yet is in striking distance of Bath and Bristol as well as the M4 corridor. Welcome to the West Country’s best kept secret!
Are you looking for:
What vets who have worked here have to say about us:
Jodie: “I have worked at Estcourt Vets for 8 years, having started right after graduation. I’m only leaving now because we’re moving back to Cornwall, and if I could pick up the practice and the people and take them all with me then I would. It is a wonderful, friendly team and just a lovely place to work. Getting out of the practice on your lunch hour to go home and walk the dogs is the norm, there is time in the day for admin, and everyone helps each other out. Even out of hours if you send out an SOS you’re inundated with offers of help; you never feel alone with any case. I would really encourage anyone to come and work here, I’m going to miss it so much!
Nicola: “A warm and welcoming practice in a beautiful area. The high clinical standards coupled with good work life balance makes this a dream place to work (If only my pesky other half would consider moving back to Wiltshire so I wouldn’t have to commute from London and I’d be back in a flash!).
We’re looking for:
Our lovely and hugely popular vet Jodie is moving back to Cornwall for family reasons after eight years at the practice and we’re looking for someone to fill her shoes! Are you the motivated individual, who will complement the high standard of care we provide, whilst ensuring a good level of communication, empathy and support to our lovely clients? We would consider full or part time positions for a vet keen to develop or pass on their clinical skills in a supportive and friendly independent practice.
The Role:
The position will involve periods of both consulting and operating, although the rota can be tailored to an individual’s strengths.
The practice provides its own out of hours service, the rota currently involves covering 1:6 weekends and Saturday mornings and usually 1 weekday night.
A typical week involves:
The Practice:
The practice operates from a single site situated in the middle of the attractive town of Devizes . There has been a practice here since 1897 but we now have lovely new purpose built and air-conditioned facilities providing us all with a great working environment. As you’d expect this includes two sterile operating theatres, an imaging suite with endoscopy, digital X-ray and ultrasound including dedicated cardiac probe used by our cardiologist. There is also a dental theatre with dental x-rays, a dedicated and fully stocked laboratory as well as separate cat, dog and isolation wards. We also have a large meeting space primarily used for in house training events and CPD.
